DISCOVER NORWAY

Live at a Norwegian Folk High School. Travel, explore, and experience Norwegian nature, culture and everyday life alongside Norwegian and other international students.

Throughout the year, we take learning outside the classroom. You will hike, explore the coastline, visit towns and cultural sites, try outdoor activities and experience Norwegian traditions first-hand. You will also get creative with traditional crafts, prepare Norwegian food and discover how history and culture have shaped life in Norway.l

Learning Norwegian is a natural part of the experience. Through everyday life at school, excursions and activities, you will learn useful words and phrases and practice Norwegian in real-life situations. The goal is not just to learn a new language, but to use it while connecting with local people and gaining a deeper understanding of Norwegian culture and everyday life.

Life at a folk high school is all about sharing experiences, trying new things and growing along the way. You will live and learn alongside Norwegian and international students, take part in activities and trips together, and become part of a warm, welcoming and social community. New experiences and challenges will help you grow, build confidence, become more independent and develop valuable life skills. Along the way, you will build friendships across cultures and create memories together.

One of the highlights of Discover Norway is travelling through the country. Our study trips take you to Bergen, where you can explore the city, mountains and coastal culture, and to the spectacular Arctics. Here, dramatic mountains, fishing villages and the sea create the perfect setting for outdoor adventures, cultural experiences and new challenges. By stepping outside your comfort zone and experiencing Norway together with others, you will discover new sides of yourself while creating unforgettable moments.

Discover Norway is your chance to get out, explore and experience Norway for yourself. Travel, nature, activities, culture, language and new friendships come together in a year where you do not just learn about Norway, you live it.
